You’re probably wondering what this page is about. One of the Olinger Family values is being curious and sharing what we’re passionate about with each other and our friends & family (and in turn having them share their passions with us). In this happy part of my website I will be sharing the things I am reading, listening to, creating, delighting in and more. I don’t just want to talk about stupid cancer all the time… life is way more interesting than this diagnosis!!!

WHAT I’M READING: Along with reading II Corinthians I’ve been LOVING reading a liturgical book called “Every Moment Holy” by Douglas McKelvey and illustrated by Ned Bustard. One thing I despise is cheesy Christian things, but this is far from that. It has prayers for nearly every occasion. A dear friend gifted us these books (Volume II is on Grief, Death and Hope) and I had no idea how helpful they would be during this season. One of the first ways my body responded to the news of having cancer is I could not sleep. So one night when I wasn’t able to sleep I was looking through the table of contents and noticed there is a liturgy for when you can’t sleep. So that same evening I had Austin read that particular one to me and I had my first goodnight sleep in days. I’m not saying it had some kind of magical effect, but it was very comforting. I hope you check it out! (I also really love the artwork which is all done in the medium of block prints.)
